Pic is before and after of my steering wheel. I have made a pad from a piece of ali, paded with Cobra seat padding and covered in vinyl. It then bolts
through the holes in the spokes by means of captive bolts in the ali.
Do you guys think it will be acceptable?
Cheers

Possibly, but is the view of the instruments through the wheel acceptable?
yeah i know, its a bit suspect. I had a different wheel when i did the layout and it worked. This has since gone walkies (house move etc.)
You can still see the instruments pretty well with minimal head movement. The picture is missleading.
I plan a dash re-deisgn once SVA done
off topic but does the wheel have to be round? or can it have a flat bit on the bottom?
I did something similar but it was held on with cable ties and I passed ok. Suspect it might depend on where you go for SVA.
Can you still press the horn button if that is in the centre of your wheel?

Have horn on end of indicator stalk, seemed easier than going for centre push.
if i do the same with my wheel do you think it'll pass with the flat bit on the bottom?
i am not sure about the flat bit but as far as making a pad is concerned i don't think you need one. I had to put one on mine because of the holes in the spokes. Its not there to provide impact protection.
I reckon it will be fine, also I don't think whether you can see the instruments matters actually.
Horn definitely doesn't matter as you don't need a horn for SVA.
Rich.

mmm, so theres no need for this then? lol!
Is it not the radii that are the problem with a lot of steering wheels?
