Will I need a receipt from the donor cars owner to satisfy SVA ? I haven't got one as it was a private sale and an MOT failure,
If I do need one I suppose I could always 'buy' it off my next door neighbour, however that could be seen as cheating and I dont want to do that now do I

Don't need a receipt for SVA but i couldn't get an age related plate from DVLA because i did not have a receipt for my kit which was 2nd hand.

Registration document may come in handy?

I'm sure if you've got a computer some nice letter headed paper might accidently fall out of the printer

Yes, getting any car without one is risky, if the donor was stolen you can end up with real problems when you come to register the kit. I believe there is no way to avoid a Q plate without the V5 if that is a problem for you.

I spent the £19 to get the lost one, but I had a receipt from the seller as a backup.

p.s. remember SORN if you send off for a V5

I hope I should be OK as I've got receipt from manufacturer of kit supplied to original buyer in 1990 ( mine was bought as a part build ) got V5 or whatever it was called in 2000 this was before SORN I think so no declaration needed there ( I hope )
anyway form will be sent off tonight and hope for the best
thanks for the help.
