I had a brainwave and put my door & window switches & interior light switch in a roof panel between & behind the seats.

Then I thought 'will it pass SVA like that?' I can't find anything relavent in the manual. The switches are quite 'proud' so are the radii going to be a problem?

Comments guys?

Cover them in rubber just incase?

Yep, some dirty great grommets might do the trick

IIRC the interior radius requirements only apply from something like 100mm in front of the reamost seat's back.

Note I may have interpreted/remembered this wrong so suggest you have a look for it in the manual.

Looking at the panel again, it would be better if I could find some flush mounted switches. I was originally intending to use Savage switches but unfortunately there isn't enough room behind the panel.

So now I am looking for some flush(ish) illuminated push button switches that can handle 5A.

Raise the panel to make room for them, how much space do they need? Longer bolts and spacers would do it and fill the sides in with something like split hosing or flat rubber/dense foam.

An excellent idea .... except that headroom is really tight and I am reluctant to make the flush panel into a box which projects into the cabin area.

I have found some suitable switches in Maplin so I'll probably give them a closer look.

Update - I revised the design and covered the panel in Alcantara to match the dash. The panel now contains a 2 channel remote receiver to operate the window solenoids and the buttons are painted to blend in nicely.
The rocker switch is linked to 90 led's which are placed around the cabin area to give an overall glow at night when switched on (also by door switches)

I bought them on eBay from one of the Chavvy type suppliers - the kind that sell all the neons, furry dice etc. They are a self adhesive strip which you just stick to a chassis rail and wire up to a 12V supply.
It might sound a bit 'max power' but actually looks quite subtle.
