Securing Fuel Pipe
richwalker - 5/8/06 at 01:28 PM

Had my first SVA on friday with my luego velocity and it failed. One of the things it failed on was one of the fuel lines was too close to the bell housing. I have managed to move it away but am wondering if it is allowed to cable tie one fuel pipe to the other fuel pipe which is P clipped to the chassis. It would be really good if I could as it would be sooo much easier. Thanks.

how close to the bell housing was it, im currently planning fuel pipes at the moment ans wouldn't want to fail the same way if it could be avoided now.

There was a definate gap but he (sva man) was looking for at least a 6mm gap which still isnt very much.

Rich,

It is accepted practice in aviation to use two PClips bolted together to form a figure 8 shape to prevent pipes chafing. This may do the job here also. Of course, it may be that is what you intend doing anyway!

Cheers,

Dom.
