What distance between "p" clips fixing the brake pipes to the chassis is Mr SVA expecting ? I though it was 15 cm, however things change.
thanks
I have done mine every 100mm, for the sake of a couple of p clips etc etc.
See Mark H's post re Nottingham SVA. 12 inch spacing works in Nottingham.
This is taken from previous posting last year; quote from SVA help desk (Steve Jones), he said "the main criteria being secure fixing of the pipe work and he also implied that there was no specified spacing for the fixing, but I am still going for 200mm(8" to be on the safe side (the 200mm/8" spacing is more for wiring which is obviously more flexible). He also said that the standard clips welded on a live axle should be OK as the brake pipe being made of a rigid material is not going anywhere. He also suggested thats its good practice to protect the rigid pipe work where passing any part of the chassis/structure with plastic sleeve but it should be taped in position to prevent movement or loss".
thanks,
I'm going to drop into the Derby SVA centre this week and ask a few questions about brakes, will post the answers later.
