Proving engine age for SVA
whitestu - 21/8/06 at 01:16 PM

My car has been built with the CVH from the donor sierra.

I have a copy of the V5 to prove engine age. Anyone know if this will be enough to satisfy the examiner?

Thanks

Stu

Yes

I took a copy of Burtonpower brochure. Has a list of all ford engine identification numbers.

Belt and Braces. Southampton sva wanted another mode to identify engine age other than v5.

As you have the V5, the dvla will give you a proof letter, providing you are the person named on it. Otherwise they will not issue you any information under the data protection act if you are not the registered owner.

Just FORD will be enough - it's dead quick too :-)

Fax em and in 2-3 days you have official letter - much easier than dealing with DVLA

I faxed my number off one day and got the letter two mornings later. Nice people at Ford don't you know....

Fantastic response from Ford - Faxed on Monday and received letter back in the post today!

I can't imagine many manufacturers responding like that.
