What is the best method of tidying up the ragged edges of the GRP panels supplied. Is Ally Oxide paper the best option or is there a special file that is designed for fibreglass

Any suggestions appreciated

I've used a variety of normal metal files from rough to smooth - easy to geta clean finish with a bit of care and some masking tape.

I cut to shape with a coping saw with one of those tile cutting blades in it. I then use either normal metal files, or a grinding wheel in a dremel to get a closer finish, and then finish off with a little wet and dry.

HOWEVER - I was warned that you MUST wear a face mask if you start grinding GRP like this, as it produces very small particles, which apparently can cause problems if they get in your lungs. Dunno if thats true or not, but it seemed sensible advice anyway...

yup glass fibre is nasty stuff if it concentrates in your lungs in suitable amounts.
I always wear a mask when installing the stuff in partitions etc at work as it doesn't break down in the body the same way alot of other substances do.
Seeing the state of my dad's breathing after 30 odd years in various trades that used glass fibre and aspestos is a big influence too though lol.
If ever in doubt, wear a mask and make sure the area has suitable ventilation.
