davrus - 23/9/06 at 05:20 PM

Hello there , just filling out s,v,a aplication form and got stumbled over a few questions , Q11 being one of them , it asks the date the car was first build or registered , and Q17 please give the date the engine was made , can any one help me as car is not quite finished yet so Q11 is a bit tricky and how can i find out the date that my engine was made , it is a 1300 crossflow

Many thanks for you time

I have just filled mine out and for Q11 If you finished building it this year then I see it as 2006.
The other Q I will leave for others.

Have a look at:
http://www.totalkitcar.com/tech_registration.php
All the info and exactly what you need to put down where....really useful as it explains about how to register as well....Oli.

Fords technical department are very helpful dating engines . If you do a search I'm sure the phone number has been mentioned a few times . The Burton catalogue also lists the date of manufacture if you have the first 2 letters of the engine number. Also listed on their website ? Don't know if SVA man will accept Burtons catalogue as proof but will help you fill in form

If you don't have a Burton catalogue to hand, the dates are in my Photo Archive (click here)

Some centre accept Burton powers catalogue, some don't....You can also use the donors ORIGINAL v5 as proof of age if the engine number is listed under it (and on the engine obviously) I think this is a universal acceptance. HTH Oli.
