Before i need to start looking for a pair of different harness,what are the chances of these passing
They are not e-marked but are FIA untill 2011 and they can be undone eaisly with one hand.??

In the SVA manual, after the section where it states they have to be E marked it explains that belts of suitable construction can also pass....

According to Bristol SVA they would fail. Basically the release is a turn buckle and their interprutation is that it needs a push button release. I know others will now say theirs passed but that is what I was told.

I also think that the buckle could be a problem.

Should be fine, loads of people have passed with this type of harness, if it does fail then I can probably sort you out some of the push button harnesses to borrow for SVA but I doubt you'll need them at all.

I had a set very similar to these in my MK and they failed, nothing to do with the buckle, but with the testers insistence that the 5th point was fitted to keep the buckle low, close to your groin instead of riding up your stomach when the two top straps were tightened.

Although this was in Northern Ireland - land where no known SVA and MOT laws apply consistently.

The buckle looks the same as the one in *a race car is born* and that passed....

and the same as the ones in every ultima I have been in that has passed sva, as usual VOSA organisation is crap!

As for the 5th point and "riding up your stomach", evidently the tester did not know how to adjust the harness then!!! Waist belt should be tight enough that it can't go anywhere but over your hips, you should only Juuuustt be able to do it up.

Yes, the 5th point is a good idea, and I wouldn't race with out one, but for the road I will manage without.
