After so much waiting about due to uni and work commitments, I finally got the SVA retest done yesterday.
After the engine failed big time on emissions the first time, i took it back to PTS in Luton, all credit to them they retuned it for free and it
passed fine this time.
Beefed up the speedo sensor mount so the needle doesnt wobble anymore.
And the rest of it was pretty straight forward, tidying up loose wires, new handbrake cover.
The speedo was the last test and was reading slightly under, so he let me adjust it, the second time when he told me it was ok I was so relieved. Had
a really good drive there and back except for the traffic on the way home. Definately getting more confident in it, but it needs tracking as its not
very confidence inspiring at the moment.
Just need to register it at the moment, probably will do it in oxford as im here now.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice from this forum, I'm not going to get up and leave now its done, going to try and share my newly found
knowledge!
And thanks to MK for a great looking and driving car!
Now comes the engine transplant and stripdown/paint rusty parts this winter. Better start looking for an XE and bike TBs!
Good work!
How come there's loads of students building Locosts? I couldn't even afford proper Pot Noodles when I was at Uni - had to make do with 16p
Safeways own brand (once for 3 meals a day for a week - not good ). It's just not fair!
I did a placement year as part of my course at Nissan, this basically funded the car.
Now I need a way of funding the fuel. Better switch to those safeway noodles!
My company do a lot of work at Nissan.
I would have liked to have done something similar in my placement year, but I only wanted a Westfield at the time and didn't really look into the
cheaper options like Locosts.
