fuel pipe or loom through framepipe?

hi

does anybody know if it is permitted to
fit yhe fuel pipe or cable loom through the frame tube( lower tube)?

Don't know if running a fuel pipe through the tube work is a good idea, it could chaffe on something like weld spatter and then a fuel leak could go unoticed untill it had done a lot of damage...
just a thought...same goes for the wiring ..

How 'bout puting a bigger pipe through first, (say plakky conduit type stuff) then putting the pipe/loom in the pipe ?

that would certainly protect the fuel pipe/cables etc, it could be fun to watch someone attempt pushing the placky conduit type stuff down the chasis tubes only concern there is what happens should you decide to weld a brkt or something to that rail???

If I were an inspector I might think things like: you can't check the condition of those pipes now or later on down the road, so it's unsafe.

Note I have no idea about what's in the SVA manual, but I wouldn't risk this approach myself.

Mmmmm ..you're probably right, the best way might be to use steel or copper tube and build it in when you weld up. Then there'd still be a chance of blowing a hole in it I suppose. Sounds too hard for me but I'm past the stage when I could consider it anyway....pee clips for ever I say......... oh and , if you welded a new bit onto a tube with a plakky pipe in it.......it would melt........but you knew that didn't you you teaser ?
