I sent of the sva application form and they sent me a form back saying the axle weights were to low I put 250kg and 350kg could anybody tell me what the axle weights for an R1 MK Indy should be.

Cheers Des

Des,

For our Indyblade we put:

Axle 1: 425 kg

Axle 2: 450 kg

Gross: 900 kg.

Would have thought this would also be OK for an R1 engined car.

does the axle weights for SVA not refer to the max weight on each axle ie fully laden with passenger and petrol.

yes i think it does.

Yep, it means max weights - not actual.

So raz just having you and me in my R1 Indy would exceed 650kgs.

The point is a good one though as the heavier the quoted axle weights the more braking force they will require the car to produce at SVA.

I very much doubt either of my cars are going to have a problem here (6pots on front of both of them)..... But I'd be interested to know what the rule of thumb is.
Seems from the Blade Indy above you need to add 450kgs to kurb weight.. I remember it being something similar for the Ultima.
What did you put down Raz?
