last year when i got tax reminder through it said needed mot certificate but car was only 6 months old, tried online and it went through easy. renewal
letter came again this week again saying need MOT cert, this time it won't let me tax online without a valid MOT, phoned dvla and some dopy
sounding welsh lad said i need to fill out form V112 hand that in when i go for tax at post office and that exempts me from needing MOT.
has anyone else been down this route? all seems a bit easy to me to be right really!
Just done mine today online, the form that came through the post didn't mention that I needed an MOT to tax it.
But ...
it did say that I will need a valid MOT from the 29-September-2007, that's 3 years after first registration.
Also just taxed my tintop and it's due an MOT in a week

well, i went to the post office today, took renewal form, V112 MOT exemption form, V5 and insurance with me. explained the situation to the lady
behind the glass and she looked rather confused said she didn't have a clue but she was finishing in half an hour so couldn't be bothered!
wrote out tax disc took my money and off i went!
that'll do for me!
I kept Mrs Stockton DVLA's number just in case this type of thing would happen - and low and behold last year it did. After quick phone call i
sent V5 and tax cheque off to her and she sent tax in return post. V5 was returned by DVLA a few weeks later - apparently they have to code them
correctly and invariably dont sometimes.
I just hope its OK for when i tax at end of March.
