Infact what is counted?? The quantity of black boxes i have got? or the quantity of processes you need to confirm to be able to start the car..

i mean to say..

i now have a Credit card start meganism
and a normal barrel key for the steeringlock. in case i add the option of a code wich needs to be pressed on my lcd screen what happens?

do i have 3 or still 2 devices??

Tks

If you can lock the steering while the engine is running it will fail SVA. You only need two devices so either of them will count and one will be unnecessary.

Pete

Do you need the steering lock at all...?

Can y ou not just have 2 immobilisers...? And why 2..? I thought it was one anti theft device..?

Cheers

Pete

You dont need a steering lock at all.

Just 2 forms of anit theft:

Ignition switch + FIA cut off
Ignition switch + Immobilser

Etc.

As David says, the ignition key counts for one and an immobiliser will count as the second, if you have some other form of start mechanism like the credit card it will still count as a key.

So i need to remove the steeringlock
or add 2 wires to the barrel sow the engine is shutdown...

in fact its a cr*p reason because when you are driveing and you already have speed if its then pulled out you still have the lock on.. with other words you are then far from home...

offcourse it prevents from starting without the key / moveing the wheel with out the key..

If i add the keypad to my system does it then counts as 2?

Sow 1 the creditcard is needed
and 2 the personal code is needed..

Then i ditch the barrel until after SVA

Tks

Why would you do that though? It's to stop you starting the engine and trying to pull away with no steering. Do away with it and you'll have one less key to carry.
