Is that a quik-releasable wheel?
Any chance of a close-up pic?
I'm specifially interested in how you made the horn work. I'm assuming it's the coil wire going into the dash.

Did the SVA inspector question the steering wheel at all?

Brooky - 29/7/03 at 03:37 PM

Andy , yes the wheel is quick release but no the coiled wire is for the push button gear change on the wheel, not the horn.
Interestingly enough you dont need a horn for the sva.
All i did for the sva was stick some sticky foam over the metal centre of the whell and it passed.
Do you still want the close up ?

Hi Brooky
Where can i get an aeroscreen like your's?
How much did it cost?
And did it pass the sva with it on?

cheers Ian

No that's ok.
I've looked in your photo archive at the dash pic which has the wheel on. I was just interested in what you'd done for the horn but I see you've done nothing.

I wasn't aware that no horn was ok for SVA. I'll leave mine off and fit a nasty really sharp button to the wheel for it after the test!

Where did you get the quick release oojamaflip? (tech term!)

Brooky - 30/7/03 at 12:39 PM

Mr Loo the aeroscreen came from stuart taylor motorsport and I think it was 60 +vat
Andy it has got a horn its the little red button to the right of the temp gauge, but shall be moved shortly in the post sva deluge of work.
And the quick release thingymyooja came from rally design i think.

Cheers Brooky, Rally Design is where I was going to get mine from.

I guess the coiled wire jobby could be used for the horn too? If so where did you get that from and how many connections does it have?

TIA

The coiled wire came with the klicktronic gear change system as did the connector but you can buy the connector from maplins (mine has 4 pins but you can get others)
