I've read somewhere that my Tiger cat wont pass its sva with harnesses due to the mounting point being to low.
I'm running fiberglass seat and they are more or less on the floor pan. Ive gone by the measurements in the sva book.
Ive used a block of work as per measurements and took a line across with a spirit level and its over the 450mm min
Is this right ( see pic below) and i can use harnesses or am i missing something.

How much over? Over is good! You will have to get it on the mark or more or it will defo fail.
Mine are really on the floor and measure 480mm if they are too high that figure of 450 will be less.
I believe this is to stop the spine from getting compacted in the event of a crash which is a possibility if the seats are mounted too high.
That is my view but stand by to be corrected

What is dis?
must have missed this in the SVA manual, just approaching fittings seats and harnesses
What? It has to be over surely, it's to stop the belt from breaking your collar bones in an accident by pulling you down into the seat. If your seat is solid and your belts pass through it they will count this as your mount height.

This is the block of wood i placed on thebase of the seat, my seat are low and fairly flat at the base so the block doesnlt tilt up like the sva book
diagram.

You do seem to have the spirit level on the back of the seat and not the seat belt mounts, its this that matters although as has been said if the
belts pass through ths seats the bottom of the cutout is what is measured. On the cat , which is what I think you have, the back rail in which the
harnesses are mounted is marginal with the Tiger pads or anything higher.
Ignore the the spirit level in the photo it was just sitting there in the shot of the block of wood. I had the level on the rear chassis member where
the harness tubes are which is over the 450mm
The harness hole on the seats are even higher
