Are the rivet on cable tie bases / mounts sva ok for the fuel hose..?
i did a search and found people had used them for harnesess and brake lines but couldn't find a definite answer about using them on the fuel system..?

No problem if they are permenantly fixed.

Fine when actually riveted on

You can even use a dab of PU adhesive - great when you don't want to drill a hole.

If used correctly PU can be immensely strong - just try separating alloy panels from a chassis and you will see what I mean.
If your fuel lines are not under too much tension, paractically any brand of PU will do. If you need something stronger, the windscreen adhesive goes off much harder or there are a number of Sikaflex types with different strengths.

I don't think you can use glue, as the sticky pad versions fail.. You will need some positive form of positive fixing (I would use a rivet). PU is fine unless then paint peals so I would not use it, and will only be as strong as the paint!
