I'm not sure what they'll think of the edging used on the arch supports. Is edging material allowed to have a non-radiused edge?
Have you used self-amalgamating / vinyl tape on the front suspension to cover up the nasties? At my first SVA it was deemed non-permanent (might be an
issue). Might be worth taking some split radiator hose and tie-wraps just incase....
Is the tunnel top definitely radiused enough?
GOOD LUCK!
PS Make sure you pick up the rivet bits under the silencer can. If you run them over they can cause punctures. Having to mend that on the morning of SVA would not be good!!!
The edges of the exhaust collectors look like they are exposed?? Why the big Exhaust shield?
Top bone has a rubber pad on it wrapped in salf amalgamating tape
The tunnel was hand bent so i would think its radiused enough...........i hope.
yes puncture on SVA morning is not a good start, i will get the broom out!
Edges of exhaust collectors are exposed,
Its an MK exhaust up the the collector, how have other MKers got around this problem?
Big exhaust shield to cover the clamps and the Lambda boss on the scilencer end of the collector.
I just ectended it by 6 inches, it was big initially as it has 2 cats under there!
Rear reflectors in your tool box so you can fit the where the SVA man is happy with ?

Shit!
Thanks
Agriv8, completely forgot about them, Phew
Cant see your Hand brake on / low level warning light this usually needs to have the correcy (!) symbol on.
Right here is a really anal one for you and trust me people have been failed on it.
on your Dash the dommed allen cap heads
I would put a blob of silcone in them, the allen key hole does not meet the radius rule and can be classed as a sharp edge people have been failed for
it.
( ps it it tends to fall out just after SVA )

Agriv8
The handbrake light is the lower one on the centre of the dash obscured by the wheel in the photo,
Anal ok!
they are self tappers and are already full of silicone

masking tape on the brake hose, indicator extension, wish bone, track rod - deemed not permanent
I used split convoluted hose and cable tied it on.
right angle wing stay - not good.
trim on heat shield - not deeemd as durable
hand brake surround - radius surely?
fog lamp height?

To be honest they're taking the wee if they say that a glowing red collector is dangerous because it has moderately sharp welds on it!!!!
Nut covers on the top and bottom of lower ball joint nuts to make sure.
Pat...
Ok,
Cheers Pat,
Congrats on your pass btw
The radius on the bend of your front flexible brake hoses looks a little tight. If it gets any tighter when on full lock, the SVA chap may not like it
as it could over a period of time cause the hose to collapse at that point. I know of builder who was picked up on just that point.
Cheers
Dave
What is the 2nd method of securing the front upright mushroom inserts, as I understand the pinch isn't enough on it's own. Maybe a small
grub screw would suffice.

Thought they have a tab welded to the strut that goes through the pinch section.
I believed it was this is like this so even if the pinch bolt comes loose the strut can't come out, only if the bolt falls out totally can the
strut come out, where as with the mushroom if that comes loose then a failure can occur.
Hopefully it isn't a problem as I haven't done anything wrt to it either!
