Hi again all, not been on for a while.
My suspension bolts are 1/2" unf so dont have the 8.8 bur are marked with an 'S' which means HTS, my question is, does the SVA man look at every suspension bolt head, Do you have to remove all the nice plastic covers from the front suspension for him....thanks all in advance

I think the only ones they really check are the seatbelt ones, but from a personal point of view, I wouldn't use anything under 8.8 for my suspension bolts!

Not worth the risk.

Pat...

I dont recall my man removing any bolt covers other than the rear seat belt mount ones. The lower bolts are hard to see with seat in place so i photographed them (along with any parts hidden by transmission tunnel covers etc).

It is worth remembering that whatever high-quality bolts you get, they are only held onto the chassis by a bent strip of 3mm mild steel, maybe only 5mm wide outside the bolt hole. This bracket is usually welded to a piece of 1.6mm mild steel box section.

Sort-of puts it into perspective...
