Anyone know if the fuel tank has to be mounted with straps over the top or can it be bolted up through the bottom woth some welded lugs on the
bottom?
Thanks
Dave Bailey
mines not a luego but is bolted through into rivnuts in the chassis. just needs spring washers on the secureing bolts and is sat on 2 strips of foam
tape.

Yes either. Mine is fitted using straps, but others have used lugs and bolted direct to the chassis. Production cars have in the past used both
methods also. There are no SVA issues either way.

Thanks Guys....
Rich,
Who made your tank? looks nice.. plus what pump have you got fitted? I have an impreza pump and sender that fits in the top but yours looks the
biz!
Dave B
pump is 06/07 zx10r.
looks good rich, now i know what to expect what martyn has done mine, was it him that made yours? did it come with the lugs or did you ask for them?
some people have suggested that welding lugs onto an ally tank and bolting directly to the chassis will lead to cracking around the welds due to vibration...
I`ve got mine bolted direct to the chassis with rivnuts and spring washers, It`s a stainless tank with channel welded to the underside bolted through this. No problems yet!!
Tank was made by bryn at Allyfab to my sizes
just gave him a drawing and dimenions. pump is from a zx6r but is the same as the 10r and regulates the line pressure internally so only one line is
needed
it holds 4 gallons but needed to be smaller than normal to fit between the exhaust silencers in the back

Have I got this correct?
60cm * 25cm * 21cm is about 6.3 gallon tank?
i make it 31.5 litres or 6.9 gallons if my maths is any good
