Are manually adjusted brakes allowed on the front axle in an SVA test? I've heard that they're not allowed. Can someone look up in an SVA
manual to see if it is specifically banned?
I've looked it up in my MSVA manual and it doesn't mention it at all. I've phoned my local MSVA test station and the guy said
"umm, err..." When I said that it wasn't mentioned in the manual at all he said that they have to follow the manual and can only fail
things according to the manual so manually adjusted brakes are probably OK". I'm not convinced by his reply.
If the SVA manual states that they cannot be used then I'll be happy. If it doesn't and they are still banned then I'm worried.
From the car SVA manual:
quote:
16.2g
Check each brake assembly incorporates an adjustment capability to compensate for friction material wear. On a front axle of a vehicle (other than a three wheeled vehicle) this must be provided automatically.

If you're putting in for MSVA surely it doesn't matter what the SVA manual says?

Did you get my email regarding the mods on mini rear backplates?
Looks like you're good to go with that plan now
