hi all,
looking at buying exhaust system for my mk blade.1)the blade engine is 1998 rrw so no cat but for sva i suppose i will need to have one?think the
easiest way would be to buy system from mk then to hire a cat for sva?but surely for cat to work properly it will need a o2 sensor and my blade
wiring/ecu has no provision for this.also can anyone recommend another supplier for blade exhaust system for the mk?
cheers

With a 98 engine you're right you will need a cat. These can be bought from MK I believe for about £80 or from America for about £50 delivered. Alternatively you can source one from a scrap vehicle. The O2 sensor will alter your fuel mixture normally on a car but as there's no provision on the bike then you just do without, it's not uncommon. You just have to alter the richness screw by hand and monitor it on a machine till its right for SVA. Then maybe change it back afterwards
As above, and to add, you can also try Martin Keenan for your exhaust - he seems to be doing a few for people on here!

cheers guys just what i wanted to know.
if i was to fit cat permanently does it effect performance.also once read on dodgy rogers build site you can use fish tank valves which are screwed
into inlet?
anyone heard of this b4?
The CAT will affect your performance so most take it off after SVA. As for the fish tank valves. I know people have used them as tank breathers but nowt else.
ok cheers
Hi. There is nothing to stop you fitting a Lambda sensor.
An LC1 & it's controller are wired in seperate from the bike loom. This connected to a laptop will show you your 02 AFR readings etc and you
can then adjust you mixture screws to obtain the correct/required mixture.
I hope this makes sense.
