Insurance - 2000 quid!!!!!!
ed_crouch - 31/10/03 at 08:31 AM

I got a quote for insurance of an MK indy yesterday - 2 grand!!

Ok, so i did spec it with a rover V8, and the quote was for 12 months, unlimited mileage. I am also 22. is this normal. I "only" pay 1000 for my P reg Audi A4 TDI.

If people are prepared to say, how much does everyone get stung on insurance??

Am wondering whether building a car is at all possible: HUMPH.

Cheers

Ed.

P.S. Spose a Pinto might help the insurance a little: 2 litre, not 3.5

Try www.footmanjames.co.uk they quoted me £180 for 1 year 5k miles on a 2.1 Pinto Indy. I'm 29 with a clean lisence.

Go for smaller cc and lower miles with a specialist company - these are the key to getting lower insurance.

Ok I'm thirty (not that old you gits!) but £175 on a basic fully comp policy is not unusual.

I know i'm 20 yrs older but i got a quote from sureterm.com for a 2litre pinto'd indy F/C 3000 miles at £159.

Worth a shout i think

I should be paying around £900 for 12 months limited to 3000 miles. Thats with a very tuned pinto, they didnt care what had been done to ir, as long it wasnt turboed. That was with Graham Sykes. Im 19 by the way.
