Hey guys, just off to bed but thought i'd fire off a quick question for the night owls to ponder while I have sweet dreams.

I'm hoping to get my hands on another MGB GT which has been off the road for a long time (6+ years) with the plan of rebuilding it.

just wondering though, if I get it without any paperwork is it going to be possible to re register it? or is it going to be a PITA and end up being spares?

Fill in a V62 and send off your £19 (IIRC) to DVAL and they send you the docs.

no registration history at all? old photo's etc.?

If you have the registration number it was last on the road with, you'll have no problems. Did similar with a motorcycle about 18 months ago, and you dont get nagged for sorn or tax....

I belive the fee for a new V5 is now £25.

Perhaps you can visit the DVLA website. Enter the reg no on the vehicle checker. It should give you the vehicles current status.

If it is on thier database, you'll have no problems geting a new V5.

This is how i managed to get the papers for 2 Triumph Vitesses that i bought.

Excellent guys, a great help as always.

I don't have the reg no to hand, but it does still have the last number plates on it.

After all those adverts the other year about no v5 = no car etc, I thought it might be a problem to get a new one.
