I understand that if you dont have proof of engine age that the car will be tested on current emiisions. I have found from Suzuki UK, (very
helpful!!), that the Hayabusa engine Im using is an 06 when I though it was an 03.
What document do I have to show to prove the engine age? Suzuki are sending a letter to show its age but have said if I want an official document it
will cost £75. Will the 'non' official letter be enough? Is it worth it anyway considering its an 06 model?
If your engine is later than 1995, you don't need to prove its age at all. You get the hard emissions test either way. You only need to prove your engine is OLDER than 1995 if you want the easy emissions test.
Joy!
You should be fine with a Power Commander and an SVA friendly map, as well as a catalytic converter in your exhaust system.
Just be happy you have a nearly new engine and stop your whinging!!
Nah! Not whinging!
To be honest Ive had the engine since april/may 2006 so it must be pretty much a brand new motor. Have had confirmation from Suzuki UK to confirm that
its an 06. Bought as a 2003 and got a pretty good deal on it, (£2300), so Im actually pretty happy!!!
