Too low for brake rollers?
tegwin - 9/3/08 at 11:16 PM

Took the car to a local garage to try it on the brake rollers...

The back of the car goes on just fine, but the front.... wont!

Its a robinhood, so has a random steel bar that comes down under the engine just behind the front wheels, it catches on the raised bit between the brake rollers....

Im guessing this will be an instant SVA fail:S?!?!

Gahh....PITA!

Dunno about SVA but the MoT guys would just use a brake indicating machine in the passenger footwell.

It's covered in the manual. They will just use a decelerometer instead.

My local MOT garage always insists on taking my buggy out for a spin to check the brakes, yet strangely forgets to bring the decelerometer every time, chancers

Yup. They just use a decellerometer (or tippy tappy machine as they called it).
The amusing bit was that they wanted to sit in the passenger seat and hold on to the decell but I didn't have a passenger seat (or belts) at the time so they just put it in the passenger "area". The blooming decellerometer kept on sliding around under braking on the aliminium floor. I think at one point though it slid into the firewall and that made quite a few decelleratory Gs

They just use a decellerometer on my tiger avon as it was to low and it passed the sva ok. so good luck....

Also known by the brand name - "Tapley meter".
