Not so scary as i thought, good article in Complete Kit Car who phone interviewed VOSA.
Yes BEC's will need a reverse of some sort but no mention of ABS or current emmision regs.
It's always best to get the facts first before you panic.

I dont think he can
Reverse will just have to be yet another part that falls off after SVA. The BEC centre will have to rent one out

Locost solution; fit the passenger side with push bike peddles connected to a sprocket on the back axle. Job done.
...or do it The Flintstones car style
Now, serious. Need to have a look at the mag then.
Dont know when im going to complete my buid, but I wouldnt be wanting to add much more things to my existing "to do list"

I was talking to a mate of mine who used to be an MOT tester. i mentioned there might be a R1 engined Mini going to Bolton Abbey this weekend. When we
got into conversation about it he was looking puzzled and asked how such cars without a reverse get MOT'd. He recalls part of the test that says
a car should be capable of going through the full test under its own power, therefore unless a testing station has a door at the end, such a car
couldnt reverse off the rollers to exit the testing station.
Maybe this is why IVA will bring in the reverse gear rule. There could be instances where a car without reverse could cause an obstruction or
hazard.
Come on BECS - get some weight on I reckon there should be a rule that says cars cant be less than 550Kg as well........... i might have to try
and get a job there, can feel a plan coming together
