I agree. That's where I went - straight from test on the off chance I could get registered (about two days before Christmas break 2005). Man from DVLA said no, need to book, so went back on 3rd Jan 06 - basically as soon as they reopened.

My SVA started at 1pm - the DVLA said I could come on after the SVA but since I didn't know how long ti would take I made an appointment for the following day. Went down, inspection and paperwork done, then left with tax disc and a form to get plates!
