Shell Replacement

I have an intresting question

If I buy a Range rover (1988 ish) and take the complete body off of it I am left with all the chassis engine and running gear . Can I then drop a "astra" estate shell on to fasten onto the exisiting ranger rover chassis mounts and then what

SVA ?
MOT ?

If you look at Blitz 4x4

they claim they can do it to a Suzuki Jeep and it requires no SVA. Surely this would be the same principle ...

What do you guys think?

I think it would still be classed as the same vehicle so no different from a chav putting a body kit on a corsa

No worries about SVA as it's the same chassis (old stylee).

I think (but am not 100% certain) that you need an MOT and then of course you would need to let DVLA know about the change to body and potentially name of car.

Yes

You can shorten the chassis to fit the wheel base if required as well.

FYI Rangerover is 100" wheel base.

except that then it's not an unmodified chassis so "should" be SVAd
