Does anyone know the regulations regarding steering wheels?
Thanks.
P.SWhere can I get a copy of the SVA manual.

OTTOMH, i think it must be padded, and no holes to trap fingers. Then the size affects the radius exempt area behind it...

try this for help.

Tony,

Best idea is to use the donor wheel, for two reasons.

Firstly, it's a previously type approved item, so shouldn't have any SVA hassles.

Secondly the exempt area around the wheel is IIRC 127mm. So after you've had your test, and you put on a 3" dia wheel, you'll be able to see the gauges you squeezed into the gap

Simon I am building everything new so there isnt a donor vehicle mate. The wheel i have doesnt have holes in it and is leather padded so it should be ok. I have racex digital guages which i am going to flush fit so i should be ok there as well.

the wheel is a bit of a minefield. SVA says it needs to be approved as part of an approved steering assby.

its gotta be Emarked.

most people fit a std steering wheel that comes with the steering assby, and then change it after sva
