SVA form Q13
matt.c - 10/6/08 at 07:29 PM

How do i find out what to put into the sva form.

A: Maximum road speed?

B: Maximum power engine speed?

My car is a indy with ZX9r, 3.62 diff, 15inch wheels.

Im sorry if this has been asked before.

Opps! also how do i get proof of the engine age for Q17?

carlgeldard - 10/6/08 at 07:37 PM

Put about 125mph for max road speed. Have you got a manual for the engine it will till you max power in that. Proof of engine age send kawasaki uk an email with the engine number and they'll send you a letter. Max power I guess at 10500 but mines a 12 not a 9

Maximum road speed is so they can check you tyres are rated correctly. probably 110 to 120 with your gearing

Maximum engine bhp / revs is for the sound test so less is beter however these guys have a lot of experience and won't be fooled.
On a test i went to the tester said that the top speed on a Pinto engined 7 at 110 was unrealistic and increased it to 120

Google found this mate

Max Power 143.00 HP (104.4 kW) at 11000 RPM

Hi Matt, you only have to prove the engine age if it is pre 95. They will test the car on the normal emissions tests if no proof is given.

So if i put 120mph for the top speed and 140bhp for the engine power?

How does this affect the emissions?

Im crap at paperwork!

Age of engine is the only thing that affects the emissions test. Post Aug 95 engine or one without proof = CAT test.

Top speed affects tyres you use.
120mph means you need U or better
http://www.blackcircles.com/general/speedrating

RPM you achieve max power (assuming 11000?) gives the sound test RPM - 8250rpm in your case.

So if i put 10000rpm, do you think they will be fooled?

mackei23b - 10/6/08 at 08:23 PM

Hi MAtt

I put:

A: Maximum road speed = 115mph

B: Maximum power engine speed =10,500 (Based on http://www.dynojet.com/pdf/2185.pdf)

C: Proof of age: I've got a letter from Kawasaki UK, see attachement, but it's still a CAT test.

Cheers

Ian

Right then, thanks everyone.

Now on the V627/1 "Build up vehicle Inspection report" Paper.
Its all about the parts of the car ie chassis/axles/ transmision/engine etc and them having serial No's and receipts.

Because i bought my car as a part built i have no receipts for these parts. What do i do now?

I'm sure you got the handwritten receipts as part of the part built package...
