Anybody got one they care to lend me for SVA???

Can use the Sierra steering wheel as it hits my gear stick.

i'm going to stitch a piece of foam into a bit of offcut vinyl and velcro it on.

i used some sticky back foam for the sva then it just fell off after.

I have fitted an escort xr3 wheel which is a lot smaller than a sierra wheel and even looks ok.

BTW - Got my chassis number through today - that was remarkably quick and easy, my local DVLA are really on the ball and helpful.

One concern - if you look at the bit about steering in the SVA manual it talks about the wheel/steering column system, which has to be regarded as a whole.

I know it's paranoid, but it's one reason why I'll be going to the SVA with the original wheel. I know yours collides with the gearchange, but didn't the Sierra come with various size wheels (depending on whether you had power steering or not)? Can't you find a smaller one in a scrappy?

Also, 'stick-on foam' goes right against the grain of the description in the new manual (see 'SVA update' thread). I know that version isn't in use yet, but those changes are only the new rulings made official. There is one part that says that all padding must be similar to what a manufacturer would fit, i.e. not taped-on foam.

Might be worth talking to the test centre!

spoke to the sva tester at lunch (just up the road) they wont accept covers that are tapeed on anymore but if the padding is velcroed on they will ie the cover velcros to its self.

I've just got my pad back from a bloke who used it for his SVA, also a grill I got from Lolocost as I knew the MK one would not pass, fits the MK nose just right with 4 cable ties.

As with Northy can post off if need be.

Dont buy an exhaust reducer, as I have got one that i never used if I can find it !

If i find it i can send it on for anyone else to use

all it was is two tubes welded inside of each other
or just use a piece of tube that will fit inside of your exhaust and weld a large washer in front of it so all of the gas has to go thru a smaller hole

I believe that the smaller the hole the less noise
It will play havoc with the performance and fuel economy
but an sva pass is the ticket
