SVA time is here and however many times I read the SVA regs on Interior mirror I don't get the answer to my question.

I am fitting O/S and N/S mirrors and understand the requirements for these but wonder if an interior mirror is required.
The regs state that if more than 15% of the vision thru the interior mirror is blocked then a N/S mirror must be fitted.
I have 'Hi Back' seats fitted and therefore can see very little from a mirror fitted to the top of the scuttle (no windscreen for SVA!) so have fitted a N/S mirror, but qustion is do I still have to fit a central mirror?
If it is required does anyone know where I can find an SVA compliant mirror to fit to the top of the scuttle?

I read it that an internal mirror is not required - that's the way I'm doing it anyway, as there's zero visibility from that mirror in my car.

If you haven't got the internal mirror for whatever reason, then you must have 2 external ones, as you say.

If you're close to the SVA, why not give them a ring? Seems they're pretty friendly, from what people have been saying here.

I rung the Beverly test centre (where mine will be going for SVA) about the mirror regs, and he told me that I would need a centre mirror, and would fail without one. Even if I couldn't see anything out of it!

Oh well, probably best to ring them.

Nottingham also told me the same. The only time a centre mirror is not required is if nothing at all could be seen through it as in a van for instance, in this case a passenger side mirror must be fitted.
If the required visibilty can be seen through the drivers and centre mirror then no passenger mirror is required.

You can get a £4.00 rubber suction mirror from Halfords - why not just stick one of them on and take it off afterwards

I think it needs to be more secure than a suction cup, Chris. Although mine passed with double sided sticker.
