I have got my car through SVA and am now tackling DVLA. It is going to be on an age related plate, do I need an MOT before I can register it?
When I first took the paperwork to DVLA they didn't mention it but the incompetence of the person I saw I wouldn't be surprised if they come
up with it this time.
to put it simply NO!!!!!
Everyone dreads the stringent MOT test after the easy SVA one…

No mot for three years unless you mot it then it needs one every year.

I've asked my local garage that and they said they'd happily test everything on an MOT test sheet without it being offical.
Cost £25 with print outs from emissions machine etc.
