Ok yes i'm VERY sad but i have just been watching the QVC channel and noticed (while surfing through) some stuff they were selling called Cataclean. This stuff is a liquid you put into your fuel tank which cleans your cat converter. It also cleans the engine and reduces the Hydrocarbon and CO readings.They tested the stuff on the presenters car and without fiddling with the engine it reduced the readings significantly!

May help the emissions test for SVA even if you don't have a cat fitted.

99%of these "wonder treatments" dont work,just get it nice n hot to clean the cat.

Noooo dont do it... they are all crap. If they do work, you either end up 2 weeks down the line back to where you were, or it ends up worse!!!

Bizzarely I saw the same advert while channel-hopping. Looked like a scam to me too.

i used a similar thing to get thru the mot once, its only a short term fix but it got it thru ok. not sure if the tester couldnt be arsed failing it again or if it actually made a difference, but was ok by me!
