Hi,
I'm installing my brake pipes and the t-piece has for conections one input from the front/master cylinder and has 3 outlets for the pipes, can
anyone tell me why? I have the pipes loosely connected and slightly baffled.
Shaft, if you are reading I looked at your photos but couldnt see too well. Can you help?
Master cylinderto front brakes 2 pipes, rear brakes 1 pipe
I'm just talking about the rear brakes at the moment ie the t-piece fitted to the rear of the chassis to split off to the two rear calipers.

Could the third outlet be for a brake light pressure switch?

On mine I have a 3 way connector at the rear and the brake light switch on the front circuit, but I know that Richard did fit the brake light switch
on the rear circuit so the 4 outlet mush be for that.

DONT fit the brake light switch to the rear circuit, fit it to the front!! as there is more chance of it working with the higher pressure in the front

Hi Hammy,
As previously mentioned, the 4th outlet is for the brake light pressure switch. If you're using the GBS supplied loom it's wired to be
fitted in the rear tee piece.
As for extra pressure in the front circuits????
You could operate the switch by blowing in it, they don't need much pressure.
On another note, ensure you fit a Nylok nut on the retaining bolt when fitting the tee piece.... The IVA peeps like it that way.

100% incorrect as Shaft's must have passed with it there.
Yes car pass all the time with it in the rear circuit but very strict interpretation of the Road Traffic/Construction & Use acts would require the stop lights to operate from the front brake circuit. The requirement is a carry over from the pre-ww2 days of mechanically operated brakes.
