I used to go to New Cross Stadium in the 1960s to watch Speedworth stock car racing. Last night I went to see the same again at Eastbourne, the first time in well over 40 years. They used to play a very distinctive tune at the start of each race but of course that has changed now. Anyone any idea what the old tune was called? I know whenever I heard it I was back at New Cross immediately.
OK I have made some progress on this. Here is the tune but what is it called? http://www.spedeworth.co.uk/formulaimages/StockCars.mp3
Thanks Andy. It transports me back to my carefree days of youth
Similar, but different... Same chorus, maybe?

I'm sure they still play that at cowdenbeath stockcars.
I used to go to Great Yarmouth in my youth and loved nothing more than watching the cars as the sun set - that music took me straight back. I took my
kids a year or so ago to Skegness. Trouble is, it just doesnt seem the same, all I could conclude was that watching front wheel drive cars understeer
around an oval wasnt as exciting as watching old jags and cortinas go round sideways!
During my years of going to Foxhall Heath in the 80's and 90's it was always B.Bumble and the Stingers I remember playing between races
