Costs £40k *per week* to keep someone inside. Might've chosen something cheaper myself!!!

scudderfish - 18/11/14 at 12:36 PM

I dont know the details of what it costs, where the above figure comes from, or what other options cost.

However I certainly agree that the action was as the judge described, I mean, just what was he thinking and at what point do you call it off... not soon enough clearly.

Haha, what an idiot. Yes, I meant per year. Teach me for staying up too late on the internet!!!

That is harsh. Youd get less for running over a cyclist.

He disrupted a race but why was his driving more dangerous than the competitors who no doubt drove faster?

Trial by media, it made the headlines hence the hefty punishment.

rusty nuts - 18/11/14 at 07:29 PM

At least the race cars had been prepared ,didn't have terrified, unwilling passengers, had had the proper safety briefing, with drivers wearing the correct safety gear and at least having reached a standard of driving to suit the event .IMHO he should have been castrated,at least it would stop the idiot breeding.

JoelP - 18/11/14 at 08:59 PM

It's also a deterrent sentence, in case anyone fancies copying him.

woodster - 18/11/14 at 11:09 PM

In my opinion some people need saving from themselves, whilst he's being bummed in the showers he's not endangering anyone else

Ivan - 19/11/14 at 07:45 AM

Don't know British laws but I guess as unemployed he doesn't get the dole whilst in prison so saving for the tax payer there.

snakebelly - 19/11/14 at 09:07 AM

should have been sentenced to 8 months as a turn in marker at the hairpin for trackdays

Just pi$$ed myself laughing, I haven't heard 'bummed' used in that context since I left school nearly 35 years ago

Haha showing my age

mark chandler - 21/11/14 at 11:35 PM

The crime was forcing it upon his girlfriend, if they had all been laughing I expect it would have been far less.

loggyboy - 22/11/14 at 12:07 AM

The crime/charge was a public order offence, for driving on to the track.
