a rifle.

Jon Ison - 24/5/10 at 09:07 PM

The one that went down best with my Mrs was a day at a health spa, nails hair, massage pampering etc.......

Trouble is its the sort of thing she needs to go with a friend ?

I did it as an Xmas present as did her sisters partner so the two went together.

What does she like to do ? Soon to be swimbos birthday and only this weekend she asked me to fit a speedo to her bike, shes into horses to so Ive clocked a GPS watch will go down well for this years pressie.

bi22le - 24/5/10 at 09:13 PM

Theatre tickets or tickets to a gig. You can both enjoy the present then and get some good quality time together.

If your feeling flush start it with a meal and end it with a night in a hotel.

If you have ever heard of her problems,(not that all of us men do) you could try to buy something that will make her life easier.

tomprescott - 24/5/10 at 09:25 PM

As Jon Ison says, spa day with her toyboy, errr I mean friend....
Women tend to go in for sentimental crap and diamonds, some way of combining the two might put you in the good books (I don't mean the religious texts by that).

Davey D - 24/5/10 at 09:26 PM

I bought my wife a new snowboard + bindings for her 30th birthday :-)

Spa day always win.

For my wifes 40th i had a ring custom made. Visted Thoresby Park for a walk and food, then quick walk round quaint shops, told her to choose a ring at jewelers and collected it ready for her birthday. Really nice supprise for her.

Bigheppy - 24/5/10 at 09:33 PM

In which case, get her a new butt plug and some stiffer nipple clamps and ball gag!!!

skodaman - 24/5/10 at 09:47 PM

'Spa day always win.'
Yeah track day at Spa sounds like a good idea. Failing that always get her more than one present just in case she doesn't like one of them. To that end I'm getting my missus an escort starter motor, an alloy petrol tank and two very narrow car seats. Maybe even a propshaft if I'm feeling generous. She's bound to like at least one of these.

Nahh not any more. Married now.

They were very useful though when my padlock on my push bike broke.

I used the handcuffs to secure it.

My word......some of you guys suggestions, will have him in the dog-house til forever and a day....

30th is quite a milestone for us girls I remember it well .....

If she is a 'girlie girl' then Jon has it spot on......

It would help us if you could tell us about her likes dislikes.....as in ....as mentioned above..

1....a girly girl

2....sporty girl

3....homely girl

4....'living on the edge' girl

5....'anything for a laugh' girl

6....fashion/jewellery conscious girl

Us women, like you guys, do not all like the same thing, as you lot have different interests, hobbies and sports preferences, so do us girls.......

I can say one thing for certain.....for a 'significant' birthday (or in my case, any birthday).. Do NOT buy her anything for the home ......it has to be for herself......

Figure out what she actually likes and dislikes and you are 3/4 there....

Mr Whippy - 24/5/10 at 11:05 PM

Bought mine a full day at a health spa and she loved it but location is important too, also rings necklesses etc even a new i-pod

but...

I worry about what I'm going to get her like half a year in advance its a nightmare that just gets worse each year as the list of options just gets smaller and smaller

Got the wife a full service at a health spa for christmas she was well chuffed, a mate did the same so they can go together

The problem now is how do you top that, its her 40th this year and i realy havent got a clue as Whippy says it gets harder every year.

trikerneil - 25/5/10 at 05:04 AM

I got my Missus a Pandora bracelet for her 40th.

You can spend a little or a lot and it gives the option of adding bits for future birthdays.

Just bought eldest daughter a Lambo Gallardo drive for her 30th, she is well chuffed

Vindi_andy - 25/5/10 at 09:01 AM

Got my wife vouchers for a local beauty parlour so she could have the pampering she wanted and didnt have to go with a mate. Also she could spend it in bits and have several treatments spread over a period of time and she loved that.

Also threw in a full massage cos i didnt want her to think i hadnt thought about it and she had said she wanted one

FFTS - 25/5/10 at 09:18 AM

Last weekend I took a lady up for a Tandem skydive that her hubby had bought her for her birthday. She said she was sh****g herself but its still a bit more exciting than her last years present which was an electric drill

rallyingden - 25/5/10 at 09:56 AM

Long weekend in Rome, cheap flights & hotels .......... loads of brownie points

eznfrank - 25/5/10 at 10:02 AM

I got the Indy for my 30th but it's her 30th coming up in Feb so I've got to equal it somehow - she's got her eye on a Nissan Figaro Better get saving!!

YQUSTA - 25/5/10 at 01:48 PM

As a 'little' extra I always get the wife some chocolates. Not the normal stuff though I get some of this, I am told by my wife it is the best chocolate.
I will warn you though if your wife is like mine it will then be expected on every important date in your lives

Hellfire - 25/5/10 at 05:34 PM

A new ironing board. There's nothing a woman likes more than a new ironing board. Or you could really push the boat out and buy her a new iron too......... It is her 30th afterall................

excellent, some great suggestions there! Turns out her friends are already planning a spa day so thats one more off the list. The cake is an inspired idea though! I think the holiday is a good one too, she's mentioned wanting a hot holiday. That and some jewelry should do the trick.

Not forgetting the ironing board of course
