SVA and 'Old' type Smiths Instruments
Small tip I thought I would share.
I used instruments from a spitfire and the bezels fail the SVA because they do not meet the min raduis.
If you remove the bezel by twisting off and then get some plastic insulation tape about 3/4" wide and wrap it around so that it overlaps the
glass by about 1/4" it holds the glass in place and makes a neat, black, flat bezel which passes SVA.
When fitting the tape pull hard and the tape forms around the edge and over the face as well.
Would show a picture but after SVA the original chrome bezels 'fell back on'!

Behind the steering wheel it dont matter what radius they have. As long as it's in the area indicated in the SVA doc.

Simplest way is to put the car in for SVA with the minimium of instruments, but with the holes for the "optional" dials ready cut but
behind the vinyl.
At SVA my car will only have a speedo and a 2 inch combined oil presure water temp gauge from an MG Midget (the non electric kind), as soon as SVA
is passed a few cuts with a stanley knife and in goes the tacho, amps and voltmeter.
I was going to fit an ambient air temp gauge but figured in a locost you know when its freezing. :-)

I used smiths from a dolomite,
The SVA inspector didn't even look at the radious I made the dash a little padded and the instruments sort of sank in to it,
Just thought I would mention it
Alan, thanx for the info on the seats, I got a set three weeks ago and I agree, very comfy!
