proof of age for a ford pinto

can anybody help me out? i need to prove the age of my pinto engine.i brought the donor as a stolen /recovered from a scrappy and have no v5 or vin plate from the donor.does anybody know who or where to contact ford for proof of age for an engine to please MR SVA.

a haynes manual might give this info, they some times have the age linked to the engine number in the front of the book, they do in many motorcycle haynes manuals.this is assuming you can read the engine number.

you have to write to

technical information centre
FORD motor company
PO BOX 300
WALSALL
WS5 4QH

send them your engine number and they will give you the age (best enclose an S.A.E).

Send Ford Tech support a fax with the engine number and a few days later you will get a letter from them with all the info they have. Very un-Tech Support like, fast/good service/free!

thanks zetec ,as you rightly said these people are very very quick and efficient.i faxed them from work one morning and had a reply the next day first post.i was very impressed.thanks again m8 this saved a lot of time and effort.
