steering lock

is there any other way of passing the "anti theft device" part of the sva, other than the steering lock in the ignition barrel?

Just a thought........if you fit a switch to cut off the fuel pump, there will still be enough fuel in the carbs to start the car and drive it into something hard.......

a keyed isolator wired in series for the starter relay - maybe?

There are quite a few ways!

use an alarm with an immobiliser so that when you disarm it the ignition comes on (thats if you use the central locking switched relay outputs via another relay to control the ignition relay) and if you want to be really posh, and your alarm has an extra output for the extra button on the keyfob, use this as the start button - cant get the ignition on without the correct keyfob - well secure
