SVA retest pass L-B

If anyone has followed my SVA saga, I am pleased to report that it is all over.

Interesting retest:

1) clutch/gearbox started rattling like crazy on way to centre.
2) lost carb pressure test cover (replaced prior to test with a bit of hose).
3) emissions failed
4) Speedo failed. My sensor is on one wheel only, and I have an open diff. The machine reads the average of the two rollers. For some reason one roller (or wheel bearing) was stiff and the wheels were traveling at totally different speeds. I knew my speedo was right as I checked it against SatNav on the way over.
5) Noise test passed (99dB with 6in MK silencer and GSXR1100wp, stainless 4-2-1 exhaust)
6) Speedo test passed. They ended up driving around the test centre and comparing with an approved vehicle (very decent of them, although he had over heated my engine as he had tried to get it past, so I think he wanted to see the back of me).
7) Emissions test passed. So after all that we ran a final emissions test and it crept in HC of 1049ppm at idle. The CO below 1% (thresholds are 1200ppm, and 3.5%). HC's have always been the problem owing to big carbs.

I got wet driving home, but the noise in the gearbox didn't get worse. I think it is somethign to do with a gear change lever, so it should be an easy fix.

I'm still not sure how it passed the emissions. He was a biker himself, so I suspect he removed one of the carb pressure test covers, or forgot to put the probe in the exhaust. Either way it ran a bit rubbish on the way home, but I don't care.

Great to see the back of that damned test.

Thanks for the comments.

It is surprising how strong blue-tack grips that trim on! I doubt it will fall-off for weeks!
