possible daft IVA question

is it still possible to build, test and register a kitcar built from a gathering of parts and no donor vehicle, so a Qplate build under SVA?

or are the only differences the price and some extra rules regarding reverse, lighting and seats/belts etc... ?

How about LHD kitcars? (ps i know only UK residents can apply)

All new bits (+ 1 reconditioned) = new registration.
Single donor vehicle = age related registration.
A pile of bits from different cars + Q reg

The registration rules are completely separate from IVA. They have not changed so all the options about Q, age-related, etc are unchanged.

I have a feeling there was something new about LHD cars which came in before IVA, but I can't remember what it was about!

What if i used everything new apart from the engine and didn't recondition it. Would it still be a Q plate?
