Have you tried ringing the DVLA recently? they only employ one human being in their call centre and all he does is turn the power on in the morning and off at night

Hahaha - yeah i have - last year. Got through to a human being after about 20 mins of trying and getting numerous busy - call back later messages and getting cut off. They dont seem to queue people - or didnt when i had to speak to them!!

as said already be very carefull... I would pay it and send letter explaining it has been sold. I had a similar issue in the past and tried arguing it.... I ended up with a CCJ against my otherwise unblemished credit history

Write a letter stating when you sold it and that you sent the V5. They cant check it either way. Ring and tell them that aswell and to put a hold on the fine.

i always photo copy the V5 with the persons details on it before i send it away and keep it until you have the letter saying youv sold it. That way you have proof of who and when it went to.
