rear wiper arm broken - MOT fail?

dear all,
got my MOT tomorrow and the rea wiper arm snapped in my hand a couple of weeks a go. I am still waiting to find one on eBay at a reasonable price but will it fail MOT tomorrow?

tried superglueing it on but no joy.

thanking you all in advance

Yup, I'd remove the wiper arm completely. Some cars don't have rear wipers so you can't fail for not having one unless you have and it's broke...

Ditto, there are loads of things that you'll fail for if its there and not working but pass if you don't have it.

For example on motorbikes, an indicator system that doesn't work is a fail but if you don't have an indicator system it's a pass!

It may fail due to sharp edges but apart from that it won't

well, most of the arm isnt there. It snapped right near where the motor is. I think it might fail on the sharp edge though... doh! Wont have time tonight to remove it. What if they fail me and then I remove it for retest?

Dont know cost from motor factor as not had chance to get one. They are probably only about £10-15 from scrappie but need to get to one who has one.

Its VW Golf Mk3.

no requirement for a wiper arm in the MOT but a bit like the spare tyre rule, if it is there it has to be good. just remove entirely for now.

well, got told that the arm doesnt matter with regards to MOT but corroded brake pipes and hoses, close to limit near-side tyre and rear suspension does! £350!!
