Your new tax will commence from 1st March, so 6 or 12 months from then depending upon what you purchase.

6 or 12 months after the month the new tax was purchased in.
You can buy the next months tax disk 2 days before the month end though...
Is this a trick question
Cheers

Nah I remeber that when I last bought one mid month I was annoyed at something.
It'll be the fact that if I buy 6 months on the 15th I'll effectively only be buying 5 1/2 months tax but be paying for 6
Just trying to work out when to buy it as I buy 12 months insurance for the no claims which is still valid but 6 months tax and I don't want the
car off road when it's still sunny, if that day ever comes mind!

It's much better value to buy 12 months and then cash it in when you've finished with the car in the autumn - then you don't pay the
premium which is added on the 6 month discs.

i thought that last april......then cashed the tax in last month, having not used the car since september
it only works if you're disciplined enough to do it
i'll probably be buying 6 months this year and taking the 10% hit

Ah wasn't aware it could be done that way. I've to find the £120 odd up front though first.
Its this weather that's got me started. It'll be bright one day and snowy the next. I don't know where I stand!
