IVA Immobiliser/Alarm

Hi - Just reading the IVA doc part 13A it needs either a mechanical or electronic immobiliser -

What are people doing for this - any good suggestions?

The alarm noted in part 13b is optional I assume?

Thanks

Frank

if this is the same as SVA, then Sierra Steering lock and ignition key seemed to be adequate for me.

^ as above,

or transponder based immobiliser (or any other kind, but transponder would be my choice) and key would do if you've not got the steering lock

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If you use the alarm as the form of security I think you will need it fitted and certificated by an installer.

I think the sierra ignition still looks like being ok.

Well thats how I read it. Ive also fitted an Immobilizer but havnt got the certificate so wont use it for iva.

I beleive the IVA manual was ammended to state that for amateur built cars it doesnt need a certificate.

The steering lock and ignition key was enough for IVA on my car.
