A few post-IVA queries

I'll stick them all in here to save spamming the front page, then i might have to open a new thread to tackle some of the specifics .

1. my ZX9Rs are straight off the bike, if I take it to a rolling road will they be able to get the emissions from 4.7CO down to 3.5? or are RR just about max power? There are some screws on the bottom of the carbs that I've not touched, can these bring the emissions down with the help of an MOT tester machine?

2. Will bedding in my brakes some more increase braking efficiency (including parking brake?)

3. Are all radiuses equal? If I cover every edge of GRP inside and outside my car with the beading used for front arches will that be suitable?

4. Could anyone recommend some suitable stick on side-repeaters for my front arches (cheaper the better)

5. Could anyone describe how to stop my fog light coming on with just side lights?

6. Could I beg/borrow/steal a shed load of wheel arch beading, a stamp (for my VIN) and thin/thick trunking/spiral wrap for some wiring?

7. What would be the cheapest way to replace my wheels with narrower alternatives. Currently I have 4 7*17 TSW Edge alloys, 2 38mm inset with 205/40 Toyo T1-S, 2 15mm inset with 225/45 Toyo T1-S fitted? I have some ford sierra pepperpots but I'm not sure they'll fit?

ETA: a few more things that came up in my test - the tester wouldnt believe that a non-turbo engine could develop 150hp , my car weighs 1010kg wet (really disappointed in this??) and the exhaust failed initially at 102db, asked the guy to move the mic and try to hold it closer to 4500 revs and it got in at 98.6db!!

1. bogg bros. told me to use those screws to get mine through the test, but since your carbs are strait off the bike you might find you need to drill the jets out a bit first
(I've got a ZX9R book - so I can scan the carbs pages if you want)

I've not drilled the jets in an attempt to lean out the mixture.

I might ring them and ask

ETA: just rang... great blokes. "take off the carbs, turn the screws on the bottom in all the way (counting how many turns) then turn them back out half that number and they'll be fine"

Craig - re weights. Are you sure you're reading the form right? ... or the inspector's filled the right details in the right boxes?

1010kg is a little too conveniently the Dax stated max. design weight for the Rush.

PS If your man didn't believe you could get 150bhp from a non-turbo, he'd have a fit with my 237 stock from a N/A 2-litre!

1. Yes. Follow Boggs instructions
2. Yes. It'll improve both the foot and hand brake.
3. Basically, yes. Anything that protrudes more than 5mm and can be contacted by a 100mm diameter sphere, must be radiused to 2.5mm. Less that that must be blunted. There's more regulations covering openings/grills etc.
4. E-bay, SVC, CBS etc. Make sure you disconect the old ones (perminently).
5. Take it's feed from the dip/main beam feed instead of the sidelights.
6. Probably.
7. Get some cheap steel ones from the scrap yard. Just make sure the tyres are OK and are rated above your declared top speed. They don't have to look good.

you should get the emissions ok just on the idle screws. Factory settings should be ok. turn all the way in and then unscrew how ever many turns it says back out usually about 2??? it should be out to richen ie Lambda reducing. As on mine and on my old Fireblade the main throttles did not open until past the 2500 revs required. When doing the test I found it useful to use the idle screw to bring the revs to that level.
