Max length of fuel pipe??

Sorry if this sounds strange but whats the max length of flexi fuel pipe(rubber etc) after the copper pipe, IE between copper and fuel pump.

Thanks in advance.

Shorter the better.....Petrol proof rubber still lets a small degree of the smell through.
The shorter pipes have less square area to let the smell through.

So if you want your car to smell of petrol all the time go flexi all the way.
